Leaders, Managers, and Tutors Praised for Strong Employer and Learner Relationships.

London Metropolitan College (LMC) is proud to announce the positive feedback received from Ofsted following their recent visit. Ofsted, the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills, commended LMC for its industry expertise, strong employer relationships, and commitment to delivering high-quality learning programs.

During the visit, Ofsted noted that LMC, as part of a larger organization specializing in project management, offers apprentices a unique advantage through exposure to up-to-date sector knowledge and the expertise of staff. The apprentices at LMC develop new and substantial knowledge, skills, and behaviors that are highly relevant to their chosen careers.

Ofsted also recognized the excellent relationships that LMC leaders, managers, and tutors have established with a diverse range of employers, including public and private sector organizations. Employers highly value the clarity of communication, responsiveness of the LMC team, and, most notably, the high-quality training received by their apprentices. Employers shared numerous examples of how apprentices contribute to their businesses from an early stage of their apprenticeship, underscoring the practical relevance and effectiveness of LMC’s programs.

LMC’s commitment to continuous delivery of high-quality learning programs was highlighted by Ofsted. The apprentices engage in “live” projects proposed by their employers, which serve as opportunities for them to apply their skills and knowledge during their on and off-the-job training. The apprentices receive highly effective support from their managers, enabling them to enhance their new skills and deepen their understanding of concepts, such as financial management, through workplace application.

The college’s dedication to equipping students with core knowledge and skills was applauded by Ofsted. Apprentices receive meticulous guidance and support throughout their studies, enabling them to rapidly develop new knowledge and skills through high-quality on-and off-the-job training. Apprentices at LMC demonstrate clarity about their career plans and articulate the benefits of the transferable skills they are acquiring, which will be valuable in any future sector they choose to work in.

Ofsted acknowledged that LMC’s leaders have made strategic investments in highly qualified and experienced staff. The tutors possess a wealth of vocational and academic experience, delivering project management apprenticeships to an exceptionally high standard. LMC ensures continuous professional development opportunities for tutors to enhance their pedagogical skills and stay updated with industry advancements.

“We are delighted with the positive feedback received from Ofsted, which reflects the dedication and commitment of our team at London Metropolitan College,” said Suresh Karnajeet, College Head at LMC. “We take pride in our industry expertise, strong employer relationships, and the high-quality learning programs we offer. This recognition further motivates us to continue providing excellent education and training to our apprentices, preparing them for successful careers in project management and beyond.”

LMC remains focused on delivering exceptional vocational education and training, equipping apprentices with the skills, knowledge, and behaviours necessary for their professional growth and success. For more detailed report, Ofsted website.
